Is Wendy's halal?
Wendy's makes no halal claim in the US or the UK. In Canada, about 31 Wendy's in the Toronto area are reported to serve halal chicken since 2026, but Wendy's has not confirmed it and the beef is not halal.

- Canada Some locations
Reported: about 31 Wendy's in Toronto, Mississauga, Scarborough, North York and Oakville began serving halal chicken in May 2026. The beef is not halal. Store signage names HMA, but HMA says it certifies no Wendy's location, and Wendy's has not commented.

We found no halal statement from Wendy's in the UK, on its own site or from a certifier. Treat it as not halal unless the location shows a current halal certificate.
Questions
Is Wendy's zabiha?
Muzzmi has not found any Wendy's on the roster of a zabiha certifier (HMS, HFSAA, HMA or HMC). Even where the chain says its chicken is halal, that does not say whether it was hand slaughtered. Halal vs zabiha.
A Wendy's near me says it is halal. Can I trust it?
Ask to see the certificate. Check that it is current, that it names the restaurant and not only the meat supplier, and that the certifier lists the store on its own website. A 2024 CBC Marketplace investigation found fast food staff showing supplier certificates and expired ones. How to tell if a restaurant is halal.
How does Muzzmi decide a status?
Certified zabiha means a certifier with a public roster (HMS, HFSAA, HMA or HMC) lists that exact outlet, and the rosters are re-read every week. Everything else is labelled for what it is: a claim, partially halal, or unverified. More on how places are checked.
