Is Haribo halal?
It depends on where the bag was made. Haribo says its UK range uses pork gelatin, except clearly marked Halal products made with beef gelatin. Haribo Turkey says every product it makes there is halal certified. In the US, Haribo says it offers some halal products, so check the pack for a halal mark.

Why gelatin is the issue
Most classic Haribo gummies are set with gelatin. Haribo UK says its UK range contains gelatine from pork, including the Maoam range and Chamallows. The only exception is its Halal products, which use beef gelatine and are clearly marked on the pack.
Haribo's Canadian FAQ says the gelatin products sold in Germany are mainly made with pork skin gelatin. Haribo UK also says its vegetarian and vegan ranges are free from animal gelatine, so those are a separate option.
Haribo made in Turkey
Haribo Türkiye says all the varieties it produces carry a halal product certificate, and that most of them use beef gelatin. It names Veggy Mix, Bayram Keyfi and Fruitbons as vegan products made with plant-based ingredients.
Haribo Türkiye's certificates page says production there follows halal standards and lists a 2025 halal certificate from MUI and a 2025 TSE certificate. It also says Turkish-made Haribo is sold in many countries, so halal shops abroad often stock these bags. Look for Made in Turkey and a halal logo on the pack.
US, Canada and how scholars see gelatin
Haribo USA's FAQ says the company does offer a variety of halal products and sends detailed questions to Consumer Care. Its kosher line is made in Austria and sold through Paskesz. Kosher rules are different from halal rules, so a kosher mark alone does not tell you the gelatin meets halal requirements. We found no halal statement from Haribo in Canada.
Most halal certifiers accept gelatin only from halal-slaughtered animals or fish, and treat pork gelatin as not permitted. Some scholars argue that processing changes the substance (istihala) enough to change the ruling. More in Is gelatin halal?. To check a bag, use Muzzmi's free label scanner.
